The Five of Cups is the card of grief and disappointment. Three cups have spilled at your feet, and it is easy to fix your eyes only on what you have lost. This card asks you to feel the sadness honestly, then notice the two cups still standing behind you. Something remains. When you are ready to turn around, there is a path forward and support you have not yet reached for.
Reversed meaning
Reversed, the Five of Cups points to healing, acceptance and moving on. You are lifting your gaze from the spilled cups and beginning to forgive yourself or someone else. Sometimes it warns you are clinging to old pain too long, or refusing to let go of regret that no longer serves you.
